One way you can help reduce premiums of your home insurance is to have a Wind Mitigation Inspection done. They are not for every home, if you are unsure if your home is a good candidate for an inspection please call us to look at your property first before ordereing. What a Wind Mitigation Inspection can do is take an older home with a newer roof and add some exsisting discounts to the policy they were not previously getting. Also some tile roof homes are great candidates. If you have a tile roof home built 2001 or older you are a candidate. If you have a shingle roof home bulit prior to 2001 and a roof put on after 2001 you are a good candidate. Another thing the inspection can confirm is if your roof has a hip or gable shape. Hip roof homes can qualify for a better rate then a gable or flat roof home can. The going rate for the inspection is about $75-$99 dollars.
